Proposals

Build a proposal

From the proposals list to a finished draft: pick the customer, start from a template, lay out pages, build the fee table and preview.

Steps

  1. Create from a template

From Proposals choose New proposal and pick a template.

  2. Pick or create the customer

Search your customers or create one inline. The customer's details flow into merge fields.

  3. Lay out the pages

Work page by page in the editor. Add, remove and reorder pages. Edits autosave.

  4. Clean up pasted text

Pasting from Word or an old proposal? Choose Clean up and the AI assistant fixes formatting and spacing. You accept or reject every change.

  5. Build the fee table

On the fee page, add rows from your library and set hours and quantities. See fee tables in a proposal.

  6. Preview

Preview shows exactly what the client will see on screen and in the PDF.

  7. Submit or send

If an approval rule matches, the proposal goes to the review queue. Otherwise, send it.

Versions

Every proposal keeps versions. Sending freezes an immutable, hashed snapshot and a PDF, so you can always show which version the client accepted.

The proposals list

Status tabs show drafts, in review, sent, accepted, declined and expired. Filter by customer, creator and date.

Frequently asked questions

Does the editor autosave?

Yes. Edits save as you work, and undo and redo are available.

Is the AI assistant required?

No. It is a tool in the editor you can ignore. A person accepts or rejects every change, and accepted changes are logged.
